Scope and Content
Collection consists of several items:
1. Two black and white photographs: one of the Burnstown Bridge in 1941, and one of logs on Waba Creek in 1941.
2. Newspaper clippings, one of the 1933-34 students and staff of the Arnprior District High School, and one of a full-page article about Arnprior in the Ottawa Citizen of September 21, 1946, entitled “Strike-free Arnprior Happiest Ottawa Valley Community”.
3. Fire insurance plans: 2 copies of McLachlin Bros. Saw Mills and Lumber Yards, August 1905, by Chas E. Goad, Civil Engineer, Sheet #259, #1 and 2 copies of McLachlin Bros. Saw Mills and Lumber Yards, August 1905, by Chas E. Goad, Civil Engineer, Sheet #259, #2, showing west and east yards. 4. 1979 school photo of Philip Powell who was the first President of the Arnprior and District Historical Society.
5. Four black and white photos show the construction of the skating and curling rink on Elgin Street circa 1905. This building was located where a condominium building now stands a block west of Arnprior Town Hall on the south side of the street.
