Mrs. Caiger-Watson donated the photograph which belonged to her uncle Mr. Stanley Smith, in July 1999.
Scope and Content
Fonds consists of a photograph of the Arnprior & District High School Class of 1933 - 1934. The photographer appears to have been E.J. Powell of Hamilton. Added to the file is a clipping from the Arnprior Chronicle (November 21, 1973) which shows the same photograph. Most of the people are identified in a listing accompanying photo.

Norma Caroline Hall was born in 1915, the daughter of Norma (Daisy) McLachlin and Sydenham Hall. Her grandfather was Claude McLachlin who along with his brother Hugh, ran McLachlin Bros. Lumber company in Arnprior. Her grandmother was Norma VanCourtland, the first of two sisters who married Claude McLachlin. Norma Hall was a generous patron of the Arnprior Public Library and the Arnprior & District Archives. She died in 1993. Norma Hall was an active member of the Arnprior & District Archives and the Arnprior Historical Society.

The portrait was found by Linda Chandler of Arnprior while cleaning out her parent’s house.

This lovely portrait of Norma Hall at age 9 or 10 was taken by Gastonquay of Ottawa.
