History / Biography
The object of this collection is to provide a pictorial record of houses, commercial and public buildings of interest (not necessarily of historical/heritage significance) in our communities. The collection was started in November 1997 by photographer Shawna Philipson (volunteer) of White Lake, assisted by Peter Hessel. Later additions by Al Graham were made in 2003.
Scope and Content
Collection consists of colour photos of historical and other interesting buildings in Arnprior and McNab/Braeside. The photos are numbered on the back and identified by means of a list included in each pouch. The pouches contain the photos as well as the negatives. Note: The negative numbers do not necessarily correspond to the numbers on the photos and on the list. But the negatives can be easily related to the photos and vice versa. Some of the historical areas covered inlcude the following: Galilee Community, John Street North, Bell Street, Albert Street, Lake Street, Ottawa Street, Victoria Street, Madawaska Street, Harriet Street, Harrington Street, Elgin Street, Seymour Street, Sand Point.
