Caption reads "A corner of the picket piling gound showing pickets being piled to dry before being shipped. Pickets are one inch, inch and a quarter and one and a half inch square, and are cut in lengths from sixteen to forty-eight inches. The year's cut is ten million pickets."

Donated to the Archives by Arthur McLean in 2003. The maps were in the basement of his law firm's building on John Street. Mr. McLean's father Alan McLean took over the law firm from Arthur Burwash who was the lawyer for McLachlin Bros.

The next building ?. The next low building is 277 John St N. The next building in front of the two pine trees is that of Nathaniel Burwash, now number 284 John St N. The building on the extreme right is the Anglican Church. The building second from the extreme right is the Anglican Rectory.
