History / Biography
The Galetta WI, a branch of West Carleton District, was organizaed in 1910, inactive between 1924 and 1932, and disbanded in 1976.

Scope and Content
Galetta is a hamlet just outside of Arnprior in Fitzroy Township. Earlier names were Mohr’s Corners and Hubbell’s Falls.
The Tweedsmuir Community History contains a history of Galetta and District from 1823 and the Galetta WI Branch, including its 50 and 60 year anniversaries.Some families mentioned are Austin, Bidgood, Burr, Carss, Chown, Costello, Dickson, Forbes, Gardiner, Halpenny, Hemphill, Heneahan, Herrick, Hubbell, Hunt, Jeffries, Kennedy, MacHardy, Major, Maloof, Mohr, Montfort, Moran, Muldoon, Riddell, Ritchie, Sinclair, Smith, Stanton, Steen, Story, Tait, and Wilson.
The history book also contains the following information:
