This brick, three room school was built in 1878. It served both French and English, Roman Catholic and Protestant families for 75 years. It is presently used as a storage building for Braeside Home Furnishings.

The individual schools and school areas remaining in McNab Township were amalgamated in 1967. Most students were transferred to the newly established McNab Public School, others to the Arnprior schools.

Original handwritten letter (with seal) signed by Robert Carswell, Alex Wilson and William [illegible], Trustees, to the Reeve and Council of McNab, dated August 5, 1865. “We, the Trustees of School Section No. 5 respectfully request you to levy on and from the [aforesaid valuation ? illegible] of the said section a rate sufficient to realize the sum of one hundred dollars for school purposes for the year 1965.”
