7. 100th anniversary pamphlet: ADHS 1876-1976. Homecoming weekend October 8, 1976: graduation and dance, pigskin parade, football game, banquet, open house. First school on this site: contract let by the Arnprior Board of Education on June 23, 1875, for a four-room brick building. The students and Mr. Middleton took up residence in the new building. Total enrolment: 31 boys and 49 girls. First addition: 1910, second in 1923. Five more additions since then. Principal in 1979: William H. Sly (B.A. Queen’s). Two vice principals and 68 teachers, 1226 students.

History / Biography
Since 1938-1939, the school has published its own yearbook, initially called “The Echo” and later called “Re-Echo”.
Acquisition Source
Donated by Travis MacLeod, Editor, and Kathy Rajsic, Advisor, who were encouraged to do so by the head of the English Department, Arnold McIntyre in 1995. In 2014, Doug Collins donated his copies of the 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1967 yearbooks. In April 2016, Diane Brearley donated several copies including 1994, 1995, 1996 filling gaps in the series.

History / Biography
Arnprior and District High School (ADHS) traces its roots back to 1864-1865, when Dugald C. McNab, Principal of the Arnprior Public School, coached a few of his older students. First known as the Arnprior Grammar School, the school changed its name to Arnprior High School in 1871.

Stanley Edgar Smith attended school in Arnprior.
Acquisition Source
Mrs. Caiger-Watson donated the photograph which belonged to her uncle Mr. Stanley Smith, in July 1999.
Scope and Content
Fonds consists of a photograph of the Arnprior & District High School Class of 1933 - 1934. The photographer appears to have been E.J. Powell of Hamilton. Added to the file is a clipping from the Arnprior Chronicle (November 21, 1973) which shows the same photograph. Most of the people are identified in a listing accompanying photo.

Don Johnston was the Chairman of two Reunion Committees that were formed to organize activities for the 1945-1950 alumni of A.D.H.S. that took place in 1989 and 1999 at the Arnprior Curling Club. In 1989, Reunion Committee members consisted of Don Johnston, Don Pierce, Maureen Hogan, Ruth Nebergal, Ruth Alexander, Elsie Whyte, Tom Barnes, Bob Dowd, Pat Smith, Des McGrath, Wib Miller, Pat Devine and Jim O'Connor. Surplus funds were donated to the Arnprior Public Library for their audio book collection. Members of the 1999 Reunion Committee were Don Johnston, Allan Bahm, Peter McLachlin, Jim Mosley, Sheila Cavanaugh, Helene Schnob, Ruth Nebergall, and Calista Clement. Over 500 attended the festivities. After the 1999 reunion, the committee turned over surplus funds to various community organizations and schools in the area.
