Scope and Content
The Cenotaph Project seeks to commemorate the local residents of the Town of Arnprior and Township of McNab/Braeside, who served and perished during the First and Second World Wars, as well as the Korean War, and were subsequently commemorated on the Arnprior Cenotaph. The project aimed to identify and obtain information on each individual who are inscribed on this Cenotaph, and in the course of this work, further names were also uncovered on other local honour rolls, memorials and in books of remembrance.
A volunteer of the Arnprior & McNab/Braeside Archives obtained information pertaining to each individual, including a record of when and where they were born, the names of their parents, information about their military involvement, in addition to a record of when and where they were killed and buried in the service of their country.
For more information about the project and for a complete list of those names compiled, please see the attached project description and index. For information about those individuals listed in the index, please contact the Archives.

Acquisition Source
Created by Andriend Schlievert, Arnprior McNab/Braeside Archives volunteer. Upkeep by Sheila Havey, Arnprior McNab/Braeside Archives volunteer.
Custodial History
As a volunteer for the Arnprior & McNab/Braeside Archives, Andriend Schlievert, compiled an index of death notices from Arnprior newspapers and funeral home notices from the years 2000 to 2007. In 2008, she then donated her work to the archives for its use. It was then sold on a CD. In 2010, Andriend provided an updated version which included the years 2008 and 2009. The work is available on each PC and for sale on CD. There is also a printed version in the reading room. It has since been kept up to date by another Archives' Volunteer, Sheila Havey.
Scope and Content
Death Notices were compiled from newspaper and funeral home records. The index is alphabetical by surname. Besides providing the name, date of death and other information, it also contains the source. The index up to 2017 is published on CD for sale in the Reading Room. It is also available to consult in the reading room as a binder, and electronically on the archive computers up to 2021
