Scope and Content
The traditional territory of the Algonkin of Ontario covers over 9-million acres within the watersheds of the Ottawa and Mattawa Rivers. Approximately 7,000 people of Algonkin descent live in the traditional territory today.
The author takes us on her personal journey. She embraces traditional circle, story and vision to provide a narrative which appeals to mind, heart and soul. By following Cief Constant Pinesi and his son Kignoz she evokes glimpses of some of the language, history, spirit and defining character of the Angonkin and Nipissing People.
