Donated to the Archives by Arthur McLean in 2003. The maps were in the basement of his law firm's building on John Street. Mr. McLean's father Alan McLean took over the law firm from Arthur Burwash who was the lawyer for McLachlin Bros.
Scope and Content
Shows lots within the boundaries of Ottawa, Vancortland, Elgin, Victoria, and Harrington Streets, with Pine, West, and McLachlin Streets within (now Kinsmen Cres. & Dan St. Area).
Shows Gillies Property, Sanitary Landfill (proposed dump), and Grierson property. Also shows the soil composition. The Grierson property shows "used pit start of dump." Gives lots across the county road, with existing houses, proposed houses, and the names Sullivan, McCormick, and Desjardin.

Filed with map is a copy of Surveyor's Notes from May 13 1842 entitled B.1. Bagot & Blythfield J. Richfy which provide detailed observations of trees and identification such Hurds Lake, Alex Fraser Road, Andrew Hamilton, John Brill. This copy was provided by a researcher studying Bagot Township and Hurd's Lake in particular.
