The Arnprior Figure Skating Club began as a recreation program in 1967 under the direction of Bert Hall. The Arnprior Skating Club formed in 1974 and performed various shows & carnivals at the skating rink located on Elgin Street in Arnprior. The club moved over to the new Civic Centre when it was built in 1978 and members performed at the official opening on September 13, 1978 when Toller Cranston was the star of the show. Former Presidents of the AFSC were Beth McOrmand (1970 - 1974), Allan Hall (1974 - 1975), Russ Havelin (1975 - 1976), Louis McCready (1976 - 1978), Janet Crone (1978 - 1979), Bob Parsons (1979 - 1980), Alexandra Radlein (1980 - 1981), Brenda Ranson (1981 - 1982), Isobel McEwan (1982 - 1983), Maurice Gallant (1983 - 1984).

Scope and Content
Fonds consists of newspaper clippings and programs of the Arnprior Figure Skating Club from 1974 - 2002. As the McEwan family was heavily involved with both figure skating and the Arnprior Junior 'B' Packers, the fonds also includes a 1992 - 1993 packers program and newspaper clippings. Also included is a poster and clippings about a special celebration, "McEwan Family Night" at the season opener Friday, September 27, 1996.
