Founded in 1840, Waba General Store was operated by the Stewart family for over 100 years until 1963, when the store was sold and the building turned into a home. At times, the Waba Post Office was also in the store. The Stewart family also operated a saw mill, a shingle mill, a barley mill, a cheese factory and other industrial enterprises in the village of Waba.

Scope and Content
Fonds consists of an account book, recording the credit sales during the Great Depression. The book provides names of customers, dates of credit sales, settlement of accounts, and merchandise sold.
