A postcard with the caption "The Chief" Heads the Parade." The photo shows a uniformed man leading a parade along Raglan St. on a bicycle, followed by a pair of horses with a buggy, followed by what looks like troops on horseback. There is an early motorized car/buggy parked along the street.
The postcard is addressed to Master Silas Reed Exter Ont. c/o S. Handford. The message on the back reads: :"Lillian will show you her home on this card. I am standing in the shop door but you cannot see much of me. Aunt Grace"
Notes
Original returned to K. Handford
Note attached reads "Barney McDermid "the town cop" for 40 years rode a bicycle to his arrests and always took his dog Spot.- heading a parade on Raglan St. Renfrew, circa 1890s."
This could possibly be the same parade with the R.C.H.A.
