Scope and Content
The collection consists of 40 copies of the Madawaska Highlander from December 2003-June 2009 with gaps. The CD version includes all issues from December 2003 - December 2012. This free publication is published eight times per year and covers news items for the area of Black Donald, Calabogie, Burnstown, Dacre, Springtown, Griffith and Matawatchan. In the first edition, editor Bill Graham stated that the newspaper we be "addressing local issues and announcing local events". The content includes historical articles, Municipal news and environmental issues. The Madawaska Highlander has a greater circulation than the former "Highlander" newspaper which was published approximately five times per year.
