The Dochart Brick, Tile and Terra-Cotta Works near Arnpiror was established in 1868 by William Baker. It was later taken over by his son George E. Baker. Baker sold it in 1947 to John S. McKay who re-named the business Dochart Brick and Tile Co. Ltd. In 1980, its name changed again to Dochart Clay Products.
George E. and Annie Baker had two children; Francis and Edward. Edward "Eddie" and his wife Anne had one child Georgeanne who was known as Janet. They lived in Arnprior. Francis, or "Pat" married Gordon Douglas who was an RCMP officer. Although they did not live in Arnprior, they visited Arnprior each summer where they had a cottage on McLean Avenue.
