1. Photocopy of the biography of Etienne Brulé (born c. 1592, killed by the Hurons in 1633, interpreter of Huron and Algonkian languages) published in the Dictionary of Canadian Biography, vol. I, pp. 130 ff . Brulé was probably the first European to travel up the Ottawa River and past what is now Arnprior (in 1610/11, i.e. 2 years before Samuel de Champlain).
