Thomas Elliott was well known in Arnprior, Pakenham and Fitzroy Harbour. His father John Elliott settled on Lot 25 Concesion 4 of Fitzroy Township in 1831 after immigrating from County Cavan in Ireland. Thomas Elliott taught school in Pakenham and served as Reeve of Fitzroy. He was married to Eleanor Jackson December 27 1843 by Reverend George Goodson.

Fonds consists of a four page tribute to Thomas Elliott Esquire "A Nonogenarian - Sketch of his Career" from the Arnprior Chronicle Friday, September 1902. It provides a good account of his early life in the Township including a colourful description of Chief McNab during the Rebellion of 1837. The article also provides details of Elliott family history.
