The Arnprior Horticultural Society was established in 1930. Its chief goals were to "encourage improvement in horticulture by holding meetings, exhibitions, distributing seeds, tree planting, home and grounds improvement, importing foreign seeds and plants and offering essay prizes for topics relating to horticultureā. The annual handbook of 1934 lists the organizationās officers, board of directors and members of the civic beautification committee. Meetings were held on the 3rd Monday of January, February, March, April, May, September, and October
