David Armitage (D.A.) Gillies was a member of the Gillies family, the son of James Gillies and the grandson of John Gillies. He was born in Carleton Place in 1882 and died in Arnprior in 1967.

Scope and Content
Fonds consists of 3 photographs of D.A.Gillies: The photo taken in 1960 shows an elderly D.A. Gillies with John Diefenbaker during an awards ceremony. The remaining two photos, taken in in the early 1930s in Algonquin Park, show a much younger Gillies with an unidentied pilot. Gillies was in Algonquin Park to inspect 150 square miles of timber limits.
