History / Biography
William Schlievert and Augusta Sell sailed from Germany to Canada in 1874. They met on the trip over and married in 1876 in Arnprior. According to the 1891 census, William worked as a labourer. They had 11 children.

Donated by Mrs. Wilma Schlievert, a third cousin of Andriend Schlievert, in June 1997. Further material donated in 2008 by Andriend Schlievert. CD containing one image donated by David Givens in 2013 as accession 2013-0303.
Scope and Content
Collection consists of the following:
Family History compiled by Andriend Schlievert of family descended from Karl Federick & Karoline Redmann. Five boys (Julius, Edward, Karl, Wilhelm or William and Gottlieb) emmigrated to Arnprior from Germany in 1874 and 1883. (located in Reading Room)
Also included in the collection is a copy of a black and white photograph of the William Schlievert family taken in 1893 or 1894; a 2-page biography of William and Augusta Schlievert, including the 11 children; the obituary notice for William Frederick Schlievert and Mrs. Wm. A. F. Schlievert; the Schlievert’s family tree.
Also included in the collection is a CD containing an image of Betty (Elizabeth Ann) Burnette in 1942-1943 on Carrs Street, Arnprior with the Canadian National Railway trestle in the background. Image also shows house built by William Augusta Schlievert.
