The McLachlin family once lived at 267 Elgin Street once known as “The Corners” (Block A). Alexander McLachlin (1833-1893) was a first cousin to the original Daniel McLachlin. Alexander worked as a jobber for McLachlin Brothers. He married Jean McIntyre (1848-1918). They had a son called Norman (1882-1968) who married Mae Frizell (1900-1984). Peter McLachlin's father Norman also worked as a jobber and later as a paymaster for McLachlin Brothers.

Scope and Content
Collection consists of miscellaneous materials related to the history of Arnprior including:
1. Plan showing subdivision of Block A on Elgin Street and Charlotte Street, Arnprior, dated June 19, 1885; the area highlighted in pink once belonged to his grandfather, Alexander McLachlin. See page 389 Book 4 Arnprior Land Records.
