History / Biography
Mr. Melvin Boese was born in Fitroy Harbour in 1918. He worked for Gillies Brothers and AF Campbell and sons of Arnprior after serving in the Canadian Army. When he returned from living in Waterloo in 1966, he and his wife Estella Steinke bought land on the 11th concession of McNab (formerly the Sam McComb farm). He took the photographs in this collection with his Brownie camera which was free from Kodak to all eleven year olds with birthdays in July 1929.
