4. Clipping of Obituary for Norma Hall, by Leo Lavoie. Memorial service at Emmanuel Anglican Church on September 7 [1993]. Norma was born in Arnprior in 1915 at Edgewood Estate, the family’s summer residence. Her father was Sydenham Drummond Hall, her mother was Norma McLachlin. She died in Arnprior on September 2 [1993]. Elementary education at Elmwood School in Rockcliffe Park. Family moved to Arnprior permanently in 1932 to live at Edgewood. She attended Arnprior and District High School and then Hatfield Hall Ladies’ College in Cobourg. At age 15, she was Canadian Junior Badminton champion. Joined the WRENs in World War II and became an officer, stationed in Halifax and Washington. Worked for the Anglican Church in Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador. She was a founding member of the Arnprior and District Archives, and in her will Norma Hall left a generous legacy to the Archives.
