File consists of two pages of handwritten notes by Peter Hessel (1988) regarding Leslie Hanson of White Lake — taken before and during an interview with him. Hanson was almost 100 years old at the time (born in 1890). He knew “Granny Fisher” (Catherine Fisher, the Laird’s “housekeeper” and common-law wife & mother of his 3 children). Leslie’s mother “looked after Granny Fisher until she died”. Leslie showed Peter Hessel a pair of “granny glasses” he said belonged to her. He said he “knew” that Allan McNab, the Laird’s son, “killed himself putting a hammer to his brain”, but admitted that his information was only hearsay. The original Hanson homestead is on the 5th Line, McNab, now (1990s) occupied by Norman Hazelwood.
