1. Photocopy of pages 51, 52 from “McNab — The Township”, regarding Lipsy, an almost “legendary” character. Little is known about him.
2. Letter to Peter Hessel from John B. Steele (Renfrew), dated June 1, 1999 regarding a grave of one Lipsey (he says that there was such a person who was a contemporary of the Laird of McNab and became a character in “Kinsmen”). The letter also explains the abbreviations TH = tenant house and TM = tanning mill (re Walling’s map of White Lake).
3. Letter to Peter Hessel from John B. Steele of Renfrew, regarding some tombstones with the name of Lipsy in Dacre (Grattan Township). Robert Lipsy (died in 1880), John Lipsy (died in 1875), both natives of Ireland.
