From a description of the letter in Peter Hessel's book, McNab: The Township: 'David Russell of Pakenham to "McNab of McNab and William Yuill", asking them to determine the annual rent of McNab's property on Waba Creek for a potential development of the water power generated by the falls in Waba Creek. (It was in the fall of 1843 that the Laird was forced to demolish his sawmill and dam.)'
