1. Clipping from Ottawa Citizen, Oct. 9, 1998, of an article by Richard Starnes, called: “Dad was quite a man. Boer War trooper from Sand Point survived bullet through his body”, with 2 photos. Stewart joined the army in Winnipeg in 1898. He went to South Africa in 1900 with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse regiment. He was wounded in March 1901, treated in a field hospital and returned to Arnprior in 1901. His daughter is Margaret Bahm.
