2. Photocopy of article (Chronicle, about 1924), “Baptist Church and Parsonage at White Lake Destroyed by Fire”. Rev. Ashton and family narrowly escaped; no insurance. First Baptist services in White Lake in 1879, when Rev. Rainboth came to hold service in “The Temple”. The church which burned now, a brick building that seated 250 people, was erected in 1880.
