Scope and Content
This fonds consists of a folder of textual material (envelope, correspondence and documentation) concerning the clan MacNab and its coat of arms. It also includes a CD containing tiff and jpeg images of the Macnabb (McNab) seal. The wax seal (dated 1880 or 1881) is on permanent loan to the Arnprior District Museum. The wax seal shows the Arms of Macnab with the motto (in English) "Dreadnought" at the tope and its Gaelic equivalent (Gun Eagal - without fear) at the bottom. This seal and envelope was given to Sir Donald C. Macnabb in 1880 or 1881 when he visited McNab Township by a Miss Yuill.
