Scope and Content
Image of Henry Airth, also known as Michigan Harry Airth. Henry was born in 1841 in Scotland, son of James and Jean Airth. He never married and is buried in Thomson Hill Cemetery in Renfrew.
Henry never finished public school and went to the shanty. After his leg was amputated due to complications from cutting it with an axe, he took a bookkeeping course, crossed the border and became an accountant for a large lumber firm.
