Other than the personal correspondence, Gerald Schultz purchased these items at auction. He donated them to the archives in 2012.
Scope and Content
Fonds consists of correspondence to Mr. Schultz from Mrs. David Gillies (Jessie) regarding a large basswood tree in the Grove dated 25 November 1976. In her letter Mrs. Gillies writes, "The Grove - purchased years ago and held - not as a park - but a place for nature study lovers, and the 'outdoor laboratoy' (as they call it) for public and especially high school students - Arnprior is the only town in Canada - so I am told, fortunate in having such a woods so close-".
Another piece of correspondence is from MP Len Hopkins to Mrs. Jean Sadler of the Arnprior Women's Institute. He regrets that he cannot attend their 60th anniversary tea in 1992.
Fonds also contains Arnprior Horticultural Society Annual Handbooks 1936 and 1937 and a Baserman & Richter - Arnprior's Economy Store - paper bag. Their store was located on Elgin Street, Arnprior and sold men's and boy's footwear, drygoods etc.
A fold out Christmas card from the family of Liberal MP Joe Greene circa 1970 shows photographs of Joe and Corrine (Bedore) Greene and their children.
