History / Biography
The Russell McDermid farm of McNab/Braeside Township (2280 Burnstown Road) was purchased in 1946 from Fraser and Mary McNiven. The original land grant to Duncan McNab for 200 acres took place in 1868 but this area of McNab township may have been occupied as early as 1825. It is not clear who built the stone fireplace that is the subject of this report.
