Louise Hope noted in her introduction the following information: The congregation of the Presbyterian Church was drawn chiefly from Litchfield Township, Pontiac County but also included Portage du Fort, Calument Island, Bryson and the Townships of Clarendon, Bristol, Leslie and Thorne. The Wesleyan Methodist congregations were formed into the Clarendon Circuit and Portage du Fort Mission. Their registers overlap in the 1870's when an amalgamation appears to have occured. The region covered by the circuit appears similar to that of the Presbyterian congregation, with the exception of the earliest years, when Presbyterians of Ross and Westmeath, Renfrew County attended the Litchfield church.
