The Heise family immigrated from Germany in 1882. The family consisted of parents Charles August (b. 1851) and Wilhemina (nee Peglow b. 1852), and their children Anna Louise (married Ferdinand August Remus), Martha (married Gustav Verch), Charles, William, Elsie (married Alexander Becker), Herman A., George, Minnie (married Francis Albert August Boese), Gertrude (married Richard Potter), Frank and Henry (married Effie C. Douglas). In the 1901 Census, a 15 old Mary Heise was listed as living with the family and working as a domestic.

Donated by Adolf Vogg and Robert Dunk, 1993. Heise photograph donated by Donna Metcalfe in 2015. Her husband's mother Viola Whyte Metcalf was a neighbor and friend of the Heise girls in the photograph.
Scope and Content
Collection consists of receipts and bills issued by H.A. Heise and his various suppliers. Also included are two tax notices issued by the town of Arnprior for the year 1935.
A photograph by the Arnprior Art Studio shows the Heise girls taken in about 1915 was added to the collection in 2015.
