Naida Dean (née Merrifield) is the daughter of Forrest Merrifield and Annie (née Craig) Merrifield. Forrest (born in North Onslow, Quebec) and Annie (born in Almonte. Ontario) lived in McNab Township. Naida’s grandfather was born in Beachgrove, Quebec, and moved to McNab Township in the early 1900’s.

A Complete Treatise on Insects Injurious to Vegetarian. How to Breed, How to Train and How to Doctor Horses. How to Doctor Cattle, Hogs, Sheep and Poultry. A Complete Set of Breeder’s Tables. The book is edited and compiled by J.L. Nichols and published by Farmers’ Manual Publishing Company of Toronto. There is no publication date. The book bears the signature of Mr. Stafford Merrifield and the date of inscription: August 22, 1902. The book explains how to manage and operate a farm and contains examples of forms and detailed illustrations.
