The Cenotaph Project seeks to commemorate the local residents of the Town of Arnprior and Township of McNab/Braeside, who served and perished during the First and Second World Wars, as well as the Korean War, and were subsequently commemorated on the Arnprior Cenotaph. The project aimed to identify and obtain information on each individual who are inscribed on this Cenotaph, and in the course of this work, further names were also uncovered on other local honour rolls, memorials and in books of remembrance.
A volunteer of the Arnprior & McNab/Braeside Archives obtained information pertaining to each individual, including a record of when and where they were born, the names of their parents, information about their military involvement, in addition to a record of when and where they were killed and buried in the service of their country.
For more information about the project and for a complete list of those names compiled, please see the attached project description and index. For information about those individuals listed in the index, please contact the Archives.
