File contains information on the Hough family of White Lake:
1. Photograph (by W.A. Starnaman of Kitchener) of John Alexander Hough as a young child in 1886, “at old house door”.
2. Photocopy of article and photos in Chronicle, Dec. 2, 1981, of John A. Hough of White Lake, who died on Nov. 21, 1981. He was the son of John Hough and Anna Jane McConnell. John A. was a carpenter and postmaster in White Lake. His house on the main street in White Lake (which was also the post office) was restored and slightly moved back from the road by Neil Stewart, who lived in it for a few years in the 1990s. John A. was curator of Waba Cottage Museum for some years. He built the wooden imitation chimneys on the museum roof. On the same photocopy is an article from 1979 re John A. Hough’s 95th birthday (born in White Lake on April 12, 1884). More photos on the reverse side: tombstone, family photos.
