Scope and Content
From a description of the letter in Peter Hessel's book, McNab: The Township: 'Laird to Allan from aboard the Steamboat Highlander, enroute from Kingston to Montreal. He had intended to come to White Lake from Kingston via the Rideau Canal and Perth, but was "afraid of the journey from Perth on horseback on account of my leg." He had made arrangements for Allan to board in Kingston, but now planned to come to White Lake later from Montreal, to take Allan back with him to Kingston. He also mentioned that he was trying to "arrange the price of Kinnell" in Montreal.
